The Tennessee Department of Health is the state government agency responsible for public health in the state of Tennessee, United States. Its mission is to “protect, promote and improve the health and prosperity of people in Tennessee.” The department is responsible for a wide range of public health programs and services, including disease prevention and control, health education and promotion, and health care regulation. The Tennessee Department of Health works in partnership with other state and federal agencies, as well as private sector organizations and health care providers, to improve the health and well-being of residents of the state.
