SG Dynamo Dresden is a German football club based in Dresden, Saxony. The club was founded in 1953 as a team for players in the Dynamo sports club, which was affiliated with the East German police. The team played in East Germany’s top football league, the DDR-Oberliga, and won the league title in 1971, 1977, and 1978. After the reunification of Germany in 1990, the team played in the Bundesliga for a few seasons before being relegated to lower leagues. The team currently plays in the 3. Liga, which is the third tier of German football. The team has a loyal fan base and has a long history of success in domestic and European competitions.
