Regionalliga Nord is the fifth tier of the German football league system and one of the five Regionalligas in Germany, the fourth tier of the German football league system. It covers the northern region of Germany and it’s one of the five leagues at this level, along with the Regionalliga Bayern, Regionalliga Nordost, Regionalliga West, and Regionalliga Sdwest. The league was formed in 2012 and is organized by the Northern German Football Association (NFV). It operates on a promotion and relegation system with the 3. Liga and the Oberliga, the sixth tier of the league system in the northern region of Germany.
