About Here’s a rough-and-tumble poster font created by savagely hand-scribbling the letters within the clean bounds of a square template (hence the title). It’s quick and decidedly dirty, with just the alphanumerics, but it may have some graphic-design uses if you’re assembling handbills for a bar band or something (the ultimate wish of any font, I firmly believe without a hint of irony, is to be used on handbills for a bar band, but living in Austin may be clouding my priorities somewhat).
I made the masters for this font last fall as an exercise along with several others in a similar style. It was drawn at the 503 Coffee Bar near South First and Oltorf – one of the very best little hangouts in the city.
If you’re interested in licensing this font for public or organizational use, email me at [email protected] and be sure to specify the font’s title. I’ll respond with instructions.
