About OddBats is my first stab at a traditional, bullet-style dingbats font. It began as a self-teaching exercise to expand my skills with vector-drawing, since most of my work is converted from scans of hand-drawn material. OddBats is a departure for me, built entirely in the digital realm. But of course, it wouldn’t be one of my fonts if it were entirely traditional, clean or symmetrical. OddBats are, as the name implies, a little odd, and many are built from pieces of my hand-drawn fonts (several of the symbols are made of rotated fragments of Atlas of the Magi, in particular).
There are 52 OddBats in all, mapped to the upper- and lowercase letter keys. They’re suitable for symbols for fictional megacorps or thieves’ guilds, document bullets, or any other perversion that tickles.
