The Nyilaskeresztes P rt (Arrow Cross Party) was a far-right, fascist political party in Hungary that existed from 1935 to 1945. It was founded by Ferenc Sz lasi, who became its leader, and drew its support from anti-Semitic and nationalistic elements in Hungarian society. The party came to power in Hungary in October 1944, after the German occupation of the country, and held power until the end of World War II in April 1945. During this time, the Arrow Cross Party implemented policies that resulted in the persecution and murder of thousands of Jews, Romani people, and other minority groups in Hungary. After the war, the party was banned and many of its members were tried and convicted for their role in the crimes committed during its rule.
