Mobil, also known as Mobil Oil, is a brand of gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as lubricants, that is owned by the ExxonMobil Corporation. It was originally founded as the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company in 1887, and the Mobil brand name was first used in 1911. The company was known for its high-quality products and cutting-edge research and development in the oil industry. In 1999, Mobil merged with Exxon to become ExxonMobil, one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world. The Mobil brand is still used today for ExxonMobil’s retail gasoline and diesel fuel stations in many countries. The company also continues to sell lubricants and other products under the Mobil name.
