MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) is a public transportation agency owned by the city of Atlanta and surrounding areas. Established in 1971, its mission is to deliver safe and efficient public transportation services, including bus, rapid transit, and commuter rail systems. Operating primarily in the metropolitan Atlanta area, MARTA serves Fulton County, DeKalb County, and the city of Atlanta.
