Envelopes may have been created for the sole purpose of protecting the card from damage and for confidential reasons (to keep the content private)… but that’s no longer the case in today’s modern world. Envelopes became part of a company’s corporate identity in terms of business, and as for personal envelopes like those we use/design for wedding invitations, love letters, and gift cards, let’s just say that they’re somehow a one package deal with the card just like peanut butter and jelly, or Timon and Pumba.
