Comcast Spectacor is a Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment company that is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation. Spectacor was founded in 1974 as the owner of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team, and later the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team. In 1996 Spectacor was acquired by Comcast and became a subsidiary, Comcast Spectacor. The company owns and operates several venues, including the Wells Fargo Center, home of the Flyers and the 76ers, and the Xfinity Live! entertainment complex. In addition to owning and operating sports teams and venues, Comcast Spectacor also provides food services, security and event management services through its subsidiary Global Spectrum.
