Centronics was a company that developed and manufactured computer printers and other peripherals in the 1970s and 1980s. The company was founded in 1968 and was based in Hudson, New Hampshire. One of the most notable products developed by Centronics was the Centronics parallel interface, which was a standard interface for connecting printers to computers. This interface was widely adopted and is still in use today in many printers and other devices. Centronics was acquired by the company Genicom in the late 1980s, and the Centronics brand name is no longer in use.
