Aeroklub DDR was the East German national aeronautical association. It was founded in 1952 and was responsible for promoting and organizing aviation activities in East Germany, including recreational and sport flying, as well as training and certification of pilots. The organization also operated a number of airports and flying clubs throughout the country. After the reunification of Germany in 1990, the Aeroklub DDR was dissolved and its assets and responsibilities were taken over by the Deutscher Aero Club, the national aeronautical association of Germany.
