Friesischer Rundfunk (Frisian Broadcasting) is a regional public broadcaster based in the German state of Lower Saxony. The broadcaster is an institution of the state of Lower Saxony and is responsible for producing and airing radio and television programs in the Frisian language. Friesischer Rundfunk was founded in 1950 and is headquartered in Wilhelmshaven. The broadcaster operates a number of radio and television channels, including NDR 1 Radio MV, NDR 1 Welle Nord, NDR 2, and NDR Fernsehen, which are all available on cable and satellite.
