Android KitKat is a version of the Android operating system, released in October 2013. It introduced a refreshed look and feel, with a more minimal design and a focus on typography. KitKat also brought several new features, such as the ability to launch the Google Now voice assistant from the lock screen, improved support for low-end devices, and an updated version of Google’s Chrome browser. Additionally, it introduced optimizations that allowed it to run on devices with as little as 512 MB of RAM. Android KitKat was well-received and widely adopted, becoming one of the most popular versions of Android at the time. It was succeeded by Android 5.0 Lollipop in November 2014.
