The Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is a professional symphony orchestra based in Vermont, United States. The VSO was founded in 1935 and is the oldest continuously operating symphony orchestra in the state. The VSO performs a range of classical and contemporary music, and presents concerts throughout the state of Vermont. The orchestra is led by its Music Director, Jaime Laredo, and consists of approximately 70 musicians. In addition to its regular concert season, the VSO also presents education and outreach programs, and operates a summer music festival. The VSO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is supported in part by grants and donations.
