Volkswerft Stralsund VEB (Volkseigener Betrieb, or “People’s Own Enterprise”) was a state-owned shipbuilding company based in Stralsund, East Germany (now Germany). The company was founded in 1950 and was a major producer of ships and other maritime vessels, including cargo ships, passenger ships, and naval vessels. Volkswerft Stralsund VEB was a key player in the East German shipbuilding industry and was known for producing high-quality and innovative vessels for both domestic and international markets. With the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany, the company was likely privatized or dissolved.
