The Boston Globe is a daily newspaper based in Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. It was founded in 1872 and is one of the oldest daily newspapers in the United States. The Globe has been owned by The New York Times Company since 1993. The newspaper is known for its coverage of local news, as well as its in-depth coverage of national and international news. It is also known for its sports coverage, particularly of the Boston Red Sox baseball team. The Globe has won numerous Pulitzer Prizes over the years, including awards for its coverage of the Catholic Church sexual abuse scandal in 2002.
