STS-98 was a Space Shuttle mission launched on February 7, 2001. The mission patch for STS-98 features the Space Shuttle Atlantis and the mission’s primary payload, the Destiny Laboratory Module. The patch also includes a depiction of the International Space Station (ISS), with the flags of the United States and Russia included to symbolize the international cooperation on the ISS. The primary objectives of STS-98 included installing the Destiny Laboratory Module on the ISS, conducting experiments in microgravity, and performing a spacewalk. The mission was successful and concluded with the landing of Atlantis at Kennedy Space Center on February 20, 2001.
