STS-51A was a space shuttle mission that was launched on November 8, 1984. The mission was flown by the space shuttle Discovery and was the 15th mission in the Space Transportation System (STS) program. The primary objectives of the mission were to deploy two communications satellites, the Telesat-H and the Anik C-3, and to perform various scientific experiments in the Spacelab module.
