STS-111 was a Space Shuttle mission to the International Space Station (ISS) flown by Space Shuttle Endeavour. The mission launched on June 5, 2002, and was the fourteenth shuttle mission to visit the ISS. The primary objective of the mission was to install the Mobile Base System (MBS), which would provide a mobile platform for the station’s robotic arm, and to deliver supplies and equipment to the ISS. The mission also included three spacewalks to perform maintenance on the station’s exterior.
