John Cameron Fogerty (born May 28, 1945) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, which he co-founded in the late 1960s. Fogerty wrote and sang many of the band’s biggest hits, including “Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising,” and “Fortunate Son.” After Creedence Clearwater Revival disbanded in 1972, Fogerty pursued a successful solo career, releasing a number of albums and touring regularly. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
