Continental Resources is an American independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company, founded in 1967 and headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The company is focused on the exploration and production of oil and natural gas from shale formations, particularly the Bakken shale in North Dakota and Montana, and the SCOOP/STACK plays in Oklahoma. As of 2021, the company had approximately 1.3 billion barrels of oil equivalent of proved reserves, and produced an average of approximately 230,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
