Concurrent Computer Corporation was an American computer technology company that was active from the 1960s to the 2000s. The company was based in Georgia and was known for developing and manufacturing advanced computer systems and software for a variety of industries including aerospace, defense, and media and entertainment. They specialized in the development of real-time computing systems, which are used in applications that require immediate processing and response. Concurrent’s product line included real-time computer systems, software development tools, and middleware, as well as professional services and support. They were considered to be a major player in the real-time computing market, however, due to intense competition and a shift in the market towards general-purpose computing, the company struggled to remain competitive and eventually filed for bankruptcy in 2007.
