Mano Negra was a French rock band that was active in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band was formed by singer and songwriter Manu Chao and his brother, Antoine Chao, in 1987. Mano Negra was known for its mix of various musical styles, including rock, ska, punk, reggae, and Latin music, and for its politically and socially conscious lyrics. The band released five studio albums and had several hit songs, including “King Kong Five,” “Out of Time Man,” and “Mala Vida.” Mano Negra disbanded in 1995, but its music continues to be popular and has influenced many other artists. Manu Chao has since gone on to have a successful solo career.
